  1. This is the decade I started living in Dubai!!

  2. We were there in 1970-72 the 1st time. There were lots of power cuts, and we always had a bottle of Guanamycin in the ‘frig‘ incase of the tummy problems. There was Hussani‘s supermarket on Al Maktoum Street snd a really small Spinney’s. Also, on the beach road was a Gulf Co. Supermarket. The food was unloaded at sea onto barges and brought to the Supermarkets on the back of uncovered lorries at the creekside. Needless to say, it was melting on the journey, then put into the freezers when It arrived at the supermarket. That was also a lot to do with the tummy problems. We still had a great life though.

  3. We found Septrin to be a most useful medicine…

  4. This will be 1969, given the first khazzan launch and the development of the entrance to the creek

  5. The year I arrived! It was so different then wonderful too!

  6. Brilliant. Great record of those early days
