  3. The building with the geodesic dome on top was/is Etisalet building. The building to the right of it used a very specialised ‘Silca Fume’ based concrete in its construction. I think Ian Shanley was the project manager.

    The tower on the left of the smaller building is Arabift Tower. I worked for Xerox who had both local and regional office as well as the first ‘proper’ copy centre on the ground floor. The building was owned by Libyan interests and there was major hassle in having the Xerox sign on the front of the building because of the major antipathy between US corporation and Libya. Xerox eventually bowed to the pressure and moved to the Standard Chartered building on the other side of the creek.
