The Rose Rotana Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road was one of the first victims of the global financial crisis last year. Nearly finished and with the logos already put up the opening was canceled and the plug pulled completely. No Rose Rotana they said.

Now it was announced that the hotel, which will be the world’s tallest hotel by the way, will open as Rose Rayhaan by Rotana before the Year 2009 comes to an end.

It has 481 rooms, suites and penthouses and is 333 meters high, and will therefore gain the Guiness World Record for the “World’s Tallest Single Use Hotel”. Some other buildings, which also have hotels in it, are higher (the Burj Dubai just around the corner for instance). But none of them is used as a Hotel only.

The Rose Rayhaan Hotel by Rotana will be a dry hotel by the way, which means there is no alcohol served inside. Maybe this is better, imagine you have a suite in the highest floor and get drunk?
