Stupid driver or risky Dubai Creek extension?

A 48-year-old Egyptian man had died after he reversed his car into a new water channel next to the Al Khail Road. Captain Yahya Hussain Mohammad, head of the sea rescue section at Dubai Police, said the accident happened on Monday evening when the motorist accidentally backed into a section of the Dubai Creek extension.

People near the scene of the accident dived into the water and managed to get him out of the car. An ambulance unit immediately shifted him to the hospital but unfortunately he succumbed to his severe injures upon arriving to the emergency unit,” Captain Mohammad said. An entire sea rescue unit headed by Lieutenant Khalid Al Shimari from the section was present at the accident scene to examine the causes of the fatal fall and to remove the vehicle from the water channel.
