Thailand is concerned that Thaksin stays in Dubai
The United Arab Emirates ambassador to Thailand was Monday informed of Thai government’s concern over fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s
use of Dubai to launch attacks against the government. Phanich Wikitset, an assistant to the foreign minister, said he summoned the UAE ambassador, Ali Omran Al Shamisi, to a meeting at the Foreign Ministry at 2 pm. He said he submitted a copy of Thaksin’s interview with Times Online and copies of interviews of Thaksin’s aids to the ambassador to prove that Thaksin was using Dubai as a staging point to launch political moves against Thailand.
