A 48-year-old Egyptian man had died after he reversed his car into a new water channel next to the Al Khail Road. Captain Yahya Hussain Mohammad, head of the sea rescue section at Dubai Police, said the accident happened on Monday evening when the motorist accidentally backed into a section of the Dubai Creek extension.
The vehicle was parked in front of a plastic barrier and close to the water when the motorist mistakenly reversed into the water. “The Egyptian man worked in a nearby work site, in Business Bay, to where the accident happened. People near the scene of the accident dived into the water and managed to get him out of the car. An ambulance unit immediately shifted him to the hospital but unfortunately he succumbed to his severe injures upon arriving to the emergency unit,” Captain Mohammad said. An entire sea rescue unit headed by Lieutenant Khalid Al Shimari from the section was present at the accident scene to examine the causes of the fatal fall and to remove the vehicle from the water channel.

The answer is stupid driver. He
worked there so he knew the area, he parked next to the water, there were red & white barriers in place which he drove through.
Whilst not meaning to make light of this situation in which a man died, I think he was a stupid driver and yet another example of natural selection at work.
