Dubai’s First Swine Flu Case Confirmed

Shortly after the first cases of H1N1 flu was confirmed in the Persian Gulf among US soldiers in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates has reported its first swine flu case.

UAE Health Minister, Hanif Hassan, told the official WAM news agency on Sunday that a man who had recently returned from Canada was tested positive for the new strain of H1N1. The man, whose nationality is not revealed, was detected by the airport’s thermal cameras upon his arrival in the country and was then quarantined.

Officials claimed the infected man has now recovered from the disease and has no symptoms of the deadly virus anymore.  Reports stressed that neither of the passengers of the same flight presented any flu-like symptoms.
