Good News for 427 Dubai residents
Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as the ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 427 prisoners serving terms at the correctional and punitive institutions in the emirate. The amnesty is granted to mark the Eid Al Adha and UAE National Day celebrations.
Dubai’s Attorney-General Essam Issa Al Humaidan said that the Dubai Public Prosecution, in coordination with the Police Command, has immediately started the executive procedures to implement the order and arrangements are under way for the release of the prisoners, who were pardoned by the Ruler to enable them to spend Eid Al Adha with their families as well as to share the joy of the people of the UAE when the country celebrates its 38th National Day.
Humaidan expressed profound gratitude to HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for this great humanitarian gesture, which reflected his commitment to the provision of decent life for the citizens as well as his keenness for the alleviation of the sufferings of the UAE families caused by the absence of breadwinners, or a family member. The Attorney General congratulated the released prisoners, who included citizens and expatriate residents, and called on them to reintegrate with the society and return to normal life away from the offences that are rejected by society and punishable by law.
