Dear Sirs,
I think it was so good that parties and firework had been canceled. It is shocking to see our brothers dead bodies in news paper and we still enjoy as nothing had happened. It is shame on us if we still celebrate and eat lavishly knowingly that killing of our brothers is going on.
A message for peace, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has used wisely Sea, Sand, and the Sun , the 3S to Echo Dubai in excellence. To this case he has also use another S, the Silince for a day, as an echo with a meaning, more soundly effective than the other New Years Eve of the world.
Every effort for peace must be heard. I wish you Happy New Year to you all!
Gabriel
I’m from Palestine … and not celebrating may at least give the minimum support to plaestinians … but what gives the maximum support is what matters ..
About silence … i want to quote Martin Luther King by “There comes a time when Silence becomes Betrayal.”
James and all those that think it is such a travisty that all parties were cancelled you sound a little selfish to me. I know that anyone in this present climate does not want to lose money but what is your moaning about, your money or that fact that there is no party. Why would any of us want to celebrate a Happy New Year when there is no happiness to celebrate. Nothing except back stabbing politicians, governments and Military resistance groups that only think of their own happiness while using others as puppets and allowing the little people to suffer the consequences. All of which just play with peoples lives to better theirs no-ne elses.
I think what HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum did was to show solidarity to his fellow Muslim brothers and I wish that all Arab nations would show the same (Just like Egypt also has) What we should be offering is our prayers for the people all over the world suffering not spending lavish amounts of money celebrating a year full of war. So stop moaing about trivial things and be patient about getting your money back. I think above all the Sheikh is an honourable man and would not keep what is not his to keep.
I am from Romania .I am romanian. My english is not good , but I hope you will understand what I mean;
I think what Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum dis was to show respect for arabs .
Congratulations !!!! Al my respect !
