The body of the 29-year-old Syrian man, who was a member of the club, was found floating in the pool on Tuesday morning.

Fujairah Police officers said today that they were still investigating the matter to establish the cause of death.

“All activities at the club have been stopped until we are done with our investigations,” said a police officer.

Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, chief of Fujairah Police said they will only confirm the exact cause of death of the Syrian man once a report from the forensic laboratory has been released.

According to sources at the club, the victim was exercising at the gym before he went to go and use the pool at the club on Monday night.

Club officials said security men at the swimming pool had refused him into the pool because it was about to close for the night. It is thought he sneaked into the pool. He was found dead the following morning.
