British trio pardoned in drugs case, sent home

The British trio, who are aged between 25 and 26, were arrested in July 2012 in Dubai Marina while they were on holiday.

They were sentenced by the courts in April amidst protests that they were tortured with electric tasers, beaten and had guns held to their heads to make them sign statements in Arabic – allegations which police categorically deny.

Court hearings said no evidence of torture could be found.

They were granted pardons for Ramadan.
