Probe to investigate faulty fire system at Dubai’s JLT tower

Residents claim that fire crews did not arrive at the Icon 1 tower in Dubai’s JLT until about 30 minutes after the first alarm sounded on Friday.

Dubai Civil Defence was eventually alerted to the incident when residents called to report the smoke, which was caused by a fault in the main electrical box of the 37-storey building.

The delay has set alarm bells ringing, and the tower’s owners’ association told 7DAYS yesterday that board members planned to meet with the facilities management firm…
