Authorities warn UAE motorists against using old tyres

The warning followed new figures showing that at least 25 people were killed and 197 others injured in accidents across the UAE last year as a result of blowouts.

Authorities at the Ministry of Interior said the accidents were mainly caused by old or worn-out tyres, low-quality tyres, poor storage, high-air pressure and hot temperatures.

The figures, however, showed a decrease in the number of deaths and injuries in tyre-related accidents last year compared to the previous two years.
